A talk on forced prostitution by former police detective Manfred Paulus inspired SI Club Aalen/Ostwürttemberg in Germany to launch an initiative to educate young people in Romania about the dangers of human trafficking. The German Soroptimists gained the support of SI Clubs in Arad und Timisoara to arrange talks in schools about the tactics of the traffickers and the reality of prostitution. A film team from the German TV broadcaster ZDF accompanied Paulus who collaborated with the Soroptmists on their second information campaign in June 2017. The documentation gathered during this trip and young victims in Germany who were interviewed were featured in a ZDFinfo programme on Saturday, 18 November 2017 with the title “Bordell Deutschland” (Brothel Germany), which described the naked truth of prostitution and mentioned the Soroptimist initiative. The video in German is currently available in the ZDF Mediathek between 10pm and 6am.

SI Club Aalen intends to spread their education initiative to other countries and expand the campaign against forced prostitution and human trafficking nationwide.
