We are living a moment in time where we are worrying more about those closest to us. I am sure we share the same deep compassion for all who are suffering at this time, in particular our Italian sisters, and we are very grateful for those working tirelessly in the health care service fighting every day to keep us healthy and safe.
Governments are undertaking more severe means, limiting access to many services, all to help keep us safe.
As Soroptimists, we are taking our own action for the safety of others with a few Unions cancelling their meetings, and the SIFAF Conference in April has been posted to November 13-15 2020.
At this time, the May 15th-17th Extension meeting to be held in France is cancelled until further notice.
However, the Federation Governors’ Meeting, which is scheduled for the end of June, is still taking place. As this situation is constantly changing, the hope is with the change of season, the epidemic will subside so that the GM will be held as scheduled. I will be keeping you updated on any changes.
As all aspects of our lives are touched by this epidemic, our physical, emotional health, our businesses, our day to day life, I call upon all Soroptimists to share a greater empathy and an open mind to everyone around us.
