This year the Programme Directors Training Seminar took place from the 23d to the 24th of February.
Representatives from no less than 18 Unions from Madagascar to Iceland, gathered in sunny Lisbon to share best practices and ideas on Soroptimist Programme work.
The participants contributed to a number of interactive sessions, led by Programme Director Ingeborg Dietz, Programme Assistant Inge Withof, and Advocacy Vice-President Elizabeth Othieno Nyadwe, with support from SIEHQ. They even benefited from Inge’s refreshing gymnastic breaks, getting everyone’s creative juices flowing for the workshop!
Participants reflected on projects to eliminate violence against women, following this biennium’s motto “We Stand Up for Women!”. They also provided suggestions and ideas for more collaboration between Unions, and finally they were encouraged to discuss advocacy and lobbying strategies to make women and girls’ voices heard!
