Every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, International Human Rights Days, Soroptimists around the Federation orange their world to raise awareness of this appalling violation of women’s rights. The sad reality is that on average every third woman worldwide will be a victim of physical or sexual violence during her lifetime. To mark the beginning of these 16 Days of Activism, SI Club Cologne sponsored an exhibition titled “Say No to Violence” with artwork donated by their Friendship Link Club Marmara Istanbul. Patron of the exhibition is Mayor of Cologne and fellow Soroptimist Henriette Reker. After words from the Mayor, Club President Barbara von Ingersleben, SI Germany President Gabriele Zorn and President of SI Club Marmara Derin Oncel, SIE President Renata Trottmann Probst held the keynote address in the presence of Soroptimists from Germany, Turkey and the Netherlands.

The artwork on display at the Kunst- & Kulturcafé Timeless Art in Cologne can be purchased to raise money for projects.
