Extension Committee Chair Gerda Rosiers announced the winners of the 2017 Extension awards at the Governors’ Meeting in Florence, Italy, on 13 July 2017.
The Unions which chartered the most Clubs in the Soroptimist year 1 October 2016 – 30 September 2017 were SI Italy (5) and SI Austria (3).
SI Kenya was the Union which achieved the largest increase in membership.
This year the Extension team introduced a New Beginning award for the Union which chartered a new Club after a very long break from charters. This award was presented to SI Norway.
Recognition was also given to Clubs who gained very young members. They are SI Club Bizerte (Tunisia), Salo Alto Garda Bresciano (Italy), and SI Wörthersee-Pörtschach (Austria).
