Eliminating violence against women and girls is a priority.

Every year, the numbers of victims of violence are overwhelming. The Soroptimists of the French Union therefore work at the national level to help victims of all types of violence and harassment at the earliest possible by facilitating contacts with professionals, allowing them to obtain information or offering them a means of immediately alert their contacts or dedicated structures in case of acts of violence or harassment of any kind.

To do this, the Soroptimists have raised funds (2000 €) to support the association Résonantes. The association aims to combat violence against girls and women. In this context, the association has created the first mobile application for girls and women victims of all types of violence. It responds to the main needs of assistance and support facing a situation of violence by allowing with one click:

  • to alert up to 3 contacts and to reach 112 (112 is the only emergency number you can call for free in all European countries if you need urgent help from the fire brigade, a medical team or the police),
  • to call associations and structures of assistance to the victims,
  • to learn about existing victim support systems and meet professionals.

The mobile application is called App’elles and is articulated around the 3 notions: ALERT, SPEAK, ACT!
