On the occasion of EU Anti-Trafficking Day, 18 October 2017, SIE President Renata Trottmann Probst has a few words to share with Soroptimists.

“Dear Soroptimists

Forced labour, sexual exploitation and rape – these are just a few of the horrors which trafficked women and girls face every day. To mark EU Anti-Trafficking Day on October 18th, I would like to encourage Soroptimists throughout the Federation to “Stand Up” for these victims. As a strong network of professional women, we are in an excellent position to make a difference. I want us to become the go-to organisation for policymakers, authorities and community leaders when it comes to helping victims, but also prosecuting the criminals behind trafficking. Whether by raising awareness, lobbying or hands-on projects, let us show the world that Soroptimists Stand Up against this form of modern slavery!”
