Publication of a book bringing the stories of battered women to the wider public

SI Club Hanegev’s project in Israel has responded to the critical need for women victims of domestic violence to speak out and share their painful experiences with other women who have witnessed similar situations.

 

The Soroptimists of Hanegev held a series of online meetings last year, during which several battered women spoke out about their experiences and trauma. At the end of these meetings, the victims asked Soroptimist members to help them collect their anonymous testimonies in book form. Their wish was granted! Thanks to a large donation, the Soroptimists were able to publish a book of the women’s stories. Club members then set about promoting and distributing the book to other voluntary organisations.
