During this first week of the 61st Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW61), our delegates have contributed to, and attended many events. Would you like to learn more about the activities of the delegates? SI’s guidance document provides you with an overview of the objectives set for them at the CSW.

The principal output of CSW is the agreed conclusions on priority themes set for each year. This key document contains a set of concrete recommendations for governments, intergovernmental bodies and other institutions, civil society actors and other relevant stakeholders, to be implemented at the international, national, regional and local level. Regional groups and country missions, which negotiate the content, welcome NGO input and SI has submitted suggestions for text amendments. Some of the SIE delegates also met with their government missions, such as Denmark, The Netherlands and Norway, to advance our agenda in this respect. Stay tuned for more updates as the agreed conclusions are expected to be published soon after the closing of CSW61.

SIE President Elisabetta de Franciscis is proud of our delegates’ work and sends her thanks for a successful CSW61 to all Soroptimists involved.
