Dear Friends,
As we come to the close of our “Read the Signs on Cyberviolence” campaign – 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence – let us take a moment to reflect on all you have achieved, not just during this campaign but throughout the entire year. Think about the milestones you have reached — the awareness you have raised, the actions you have inspired, and the lives you have touched. Be proud of these achievements and the unwavering commitment you have shown in working for gender equality and combating gender-based violence by educating, enabling opportunities and empowering women and girls.
As we transition into the holiday season, we acknowledge the emotions this work stirs—the weight of knowing the fight is far from over and the hope that comes with every small step that moves us forward. And as we embrace this festive time, let’s keep the cause close to our hearts. Infuse the spirit of advocacy into your holiday traditions: transform holiday markets or gift-wrapping sessions into fundraisers for shelters, encourage meaningful giving by donating in someone’s name to organisations supporting women and girls, and share stories of resilience and empowerment to inspire hope and joy.
At the same time, let’s also remember the importance of caring for ourselves and each other. Advocacy is demanding, and you’ve given so much. Use this to recharge, to rest, and to cherish moments of celebration. Journal your reflections, honour the small wins, and set your sights on the new year with fresh energy and focus.
The fight isn’t over, but for now, let’s celebrate the progress we have made. May this holiday season refuel our spirit, strengthen our connections, and prepare to continue making a difference in the months and years to come.
Here’s to you — your courage, your dedication, and your impact. Here’s to a season of joy and renewal. And here’s to the incredible work we will continue to do together as a team in the new year.
Thank you for everything you’ve done and for the hope you’ve inspired. Let’s move forward with gratitude, celebration, and the unshakable belief that together, we can change the world.
Happy holidays and thank you.
