No less than 20 Soroptimists from all over the Federation will attend the CSW62 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 12-23 March. The focus of this year’s Commission on the Status of Women is how to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of rural women. The SIE delegation will explore ways to ensure the voices of rural women and girls are included in policy development, implementation and monitoring on all issues. The inclusion of this demographic is essential to reaching SDG 5 by 2030, as well as ALL Sustainable Development Goals.

Our SIE members will join attendees from SI and other Federations at crucial meetings such as the CSW plenary sessions, the NGO CSW Forum as well as many exciting side events. SIE President Renata Trottmann Probst and SIE Past President and Special Advisor to the CSW Kathy Kaaf will lead the delegation. Through SIE’s extensive Programme work, our Federation team will show how Soroptimists stand up for all women, and rural women in particular.

We wish them the best of luck!
