Let’s Treat Young Women to an Experience of a Lifetime!

SIE funds are still available to assist Unions and Single Clubs which would like to sponsor young women either studying or working in STEM fields to participate in the 21st SIE Congress. The deadline for applications from financially challenged Unions or Single Clubs is 30 April 2017.

The 21st SIE Congress in Florence from 14-16 July 2017 boasts an impressive programme under the motto, ‘OWN THE FUTURE – Education, your passport to a better life’. For the first time ever, the SIE Board has decided to open this special event to a wider, non-Soroptimist audience. Unions and Single Clubs are invited to sponsor young women between the ages of 18 and 25 who are either studying or working in STEM fields to participate in the SIE Congress.

The Federation is offering financial support to those Unions and Single Clubs which would like to invite a candidate, but lack the resources. €30,000 have been set aside for this purpose. The deadline for SIE grant applications to cover travel, accommodation and Congress expenses is 30 April 2017. Funds are still available so please send this grant application form to SIE HQ at siehq@soroptimisteurope.org and SIE Secretary General at flavia.pozzolini01@gmail.com.

Unions and Single Clubs in a financial position to cover the expenses for the sponsorship of their own candidates may register one or more participants until 30 April 2017. Please register your candidates on the Congress website www.soroptimistflorence2017.com   (Drop-Down Menu: Registration & Hotels > STEM project).

A brief description of the candidate’s educational background and a copy of her passport or identity card are required for grant applications and Congress registration.

Don’t miss this chance to further the careers of young women in STEM disciplines! The Congress offers the opportunity for participants not only to get to know Soroptimist first hand but also to network with inspiring leaders in their respective fields.
