How often have we been captivated by the fervour with which Clubs narrate their projects and the transformative experiences they have had in uplifting women?

The SIE Programme Focus Report (PFR) system serves as a lens into the myriad initiatives underway at the Union and Club levels. While it offers a glimpse into community efforts, it also serves as a crucial platform for Unions and Clubs to shine on the global stage.

Through the PFR reporting system, the remarkable endeavours of women for women are showcased, yielding numerous benefits:

  • Recognizing the impactful work at the Union and Club levels,
  • Commemorating members’ endeavours,
  • Attracting new members,
  • Showcasing members’ contributions to the world.

On that last point, it is undeniable that your projects are invaluable for advocacy efforts! We ensure to spotlight them to reflect the grassroots realities. Soroptimist International’s accreditation to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) attests to our credibility as a distinguished partner and a knowledgeable advocate for women and girls. During the recent 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) in New York from March 11-22, 2024, several projects from the PFR database were utilised. Indeed, your PFR submissions provide us with pertinent, reliable data that captures the ground realities.

Hence, we are deeply invested in ensuring that the projects you submit meet the criteria outlined in the PFR guidelines (also easily accessible in the downloads section of the SIE member area) to ensure qualitative and actionable content.

Moreover, we are excited to announce the upcoming call for the Best Practice Awards 2024; an opportunity for you to showcase your Union/Club’s exemplary initiatives and inspire others. We anticipate active participation, so stay tuned!

Last but certainly not least, when we talk about projects, we cannot overlook the indispensable role of Project Matching. Serving as a cornerstone of the Federation’s efforts, this platform has facilitated numerous Unions/Clubs in spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing the living conditions of women and girls, particularly amidst the tumultuous backdrop of the past two years, marked by the conflict in Ukraine. However, in recent months, the platform has witnessed a significant decline in donations, posing a dire challenge to many Unions/Clubs striving to realize their initiatives. We delved into this issue in a prior article, underscoring the urgency of continued participation to prevent the potential closure of the website. To read the article, please click HERE.

The concerted efforts in recent years to acknowledge your projects and promote your exceptional work underscore the critical role of communication in two pivotal strategies: advancing the global women’s agenda and driving our organizational development forward!
