If you were producing an illustrated guide to breast self-examination, wouldn’t it be a good idea to print it on a small card with a plastic lamination to protect it from water?
That way it could be kept in the bathroom and function as a useful reminder for young women to carry out their monthly check. Distinguished professor of oncology (and former SIE Health Coordinator) Dr Niki Agnanti authored just such a publication in the early 1990s.
Impressed by its practical and attractive design, and realising the information is just as relevant today, Soroptimist Club Athens Psychico decided to re-issue it. With sponsorship from a large Greek printing company, Typorganesi SA, they produced a new run of 2000 cards which have since been distributed to companies, at breast cancer awareness events and directly by the members of the club.
