In June 2018, Marie-Claude Bertrand was elected President of the National Council of French Women. This council is a society formed in 1901 to promote women’s rights in France. Marie-Claude has been an active member of SI Club Angoulême for years, was President of the French Union (2010 to 2012), and served as SIE Vice President (2015-2017).

In July 2018, Emine Perviz Erdem was selected as a member of the Social Gender Equality Expertise Committee of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO. Emine Perviz Erdem is a Founding Member of SI Club Etiler and was Union President of Turkey (2008-2010) and SI Convention Chair in 2015. Emine served as SIE Vice President (2015-2017).
