What is important to me as a Soroptimist is improving the status of women, human rights, and peace for all. Maintaining connections with the various local and international clubs is also always a great enrichment for me.
What is your vision for a better world?
A better world is one where every woman and girl can live free from violence, free from discrimination, and free to pursue her dreams. It is a world where gender does not determine opportunity, safety, or worth. Instead, every individual is valued for their potential, their voice is heard, and their contributions are respected.
It is also a world where every girl and woman has access to quality education. Education gives girls and women the knowledge, confidence, and independence to make their own choices and shape their own futures. When girls are educated, they grow into strong women who can lead, support their families, and contribute positively to their communities.
A better world is also a peaceful one.
What do you do to stay motivated in your work?
I stay motivated as a Soroptimist because I know that empowering women and girls through education, equality, and support helps create a more peaceful and better world.
It is very inspiring to recognise the collective strength.

Tell us about your Soroptimist club! What projects are you most proud of?
I am a member of SI Club Zürich-Turicum, Switzerland. We organised a benefit cinema night featuring a screening of the film “On vous croit”, followed by a moderated panel discussion with a lawyer and the manager of a women’s shelter. The event raised funds to support the women’s shelter and provided an opportunity to raise awareness about violence against women.
Prior to the cinema night, we promoted the benefit evening through a cookie sale at a shopping mall during the Orange Days. This initiative helped raise awareness for the cause and encouraged more people to attend and support the event.
