Dear Soroptimists,

The 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will take place at the UN in New York from 6-17 March 2023. The CSW is instrumental in promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The priority theme will be “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”. The session will also review the agreed conclusions of the sixty-second session, “Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls”.

Attending the CSW is a unique and exciting opportunity, open to all Soroptimists, to network, learn about the critical issues affecting women today, and gain insight into the work of SIE and the United Nations. The SIE delegation is led by SIE President Carolien Demey and Special Assignment Advocacy, Bettina Hahne.

If you would like to join, please fill out this questionnaire that you can find HERE by Thursday, 17 November 2022.

Since a limited number of passes are available to attend the CSW67 in New York, interested Soroptimists must fill the questionnaire to apply for a pass. Participants will be chosen on past advocacy/lobbying experience, networking skills, and more. Successful applicants will be notified by end-November.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

The SIE Advocacy Team
