Your personal motivation for joining the SIE Board?
I believe in people. I believe in the power that comes from recognising our strengths and acting on them with purpose.
Soroptimist International of Europe brings together more than 30,000 committed women. If we raise our voices with clarity and confidence, we become more than an organisation — we become a movement. A movement that can shape debate, influence decisions, and drive change.
At a time when the situation for women and girls is worsening in many parts of the world, standing still is not an option. We have the power — and the responsibility — to act.
Soroptimist is a remarkable organisation. A true gem, built on strong values, experience, and commitment. My motivation as President is to help polish this gem further, so that our impact, our voice, and our visibility match our potential.
This is the journey I want to take with all our members — to grow stronger, speak louder, and move forward with purpose.
What does your country do well for women? What is your club involvement?
In Germany, women need stronger visibility, stronger voices, and stronger cooperation — especially at regional level. Progress does not happen in isolation; it requires networks that are willing to act together.
My club is part of SI MetropoleRuhrPlus, a regional alliance of more than 20 Soroptimist clubs in the Ruhr area. I initiated this group during my time as Vice President in Germany, with one clear goal: to strengthen cooperation, increase our regional presence, and amplify our collective impact.
One example of this cooperation is a regional award called “Hope” that recognises a local initiative with impact in the Global South, specifically advancing SDG 5 – Gender Equality. The award reflects a core belief of Soroptimist work: that local action and global responsibility are inseparably linked — and that our projects are rooted in the Sustainable Development Goals.
By working together across clubs and cities, we make our advocacy more visible, our projects more effective, and our voice stronger. This is how Soroptimists translate values into action — regionally and globally.

What do you do for motivation?
I communicate with other Soroptimists.
Your vision for a just world — and for this biennium?
My vision is a world that is more peaceful, and one in which women are at the table wherever decisions about peace, security, and the future are made.
For Soroptimist International of Europe, this biennium is about becoming the polished gem we already are at heart:
- a powerful and credible voice for women’s rights,
- a recognised force in shaping laws and policies that affect women and girls,
- and a strong link between local action and global change.
I envisage SIE to be a united, future-ready movement, rooted in true women’s solidarity — one that empowers every member with trust, support, and confidence to grow, to lead, and to thrive.
When we align our voices, our advocacy, and our actions, we can influence change far beyond our individual communities. That is how we contribute to peace, equality, and lasting impact — in this biennium and beyond.
