About Hamida Aman

Media activist & journalist

Hamida Aman is an Afghan journalist and media entrepreneur,  who founded Zan TV in 2017, the first television channel in Afghanistan created by and for women, and the Begum Organisation for Women (BOW). Forced into exile following the Taliban takeover in 2021, she continued broadcasting from abroad, ensuring Afghan women’s voices remained heard. Her work sits at the intersection of media freedom, women’s rights and peacebuilding.
