Organised by the SIE Programme Team, the BPA benefit from the team’s expertise, ensuring that projects are recognised based on their relevance, quality and impact. Each year, the awards highlight outstanding initiatives that improve the lives of women and girls, celebrating innovation, commitment and the strength of collective action.
Inspiration from BPA 2025 winners
Two projects recognised in 2025 perfectly illustrate the diversity and ambition of Soroptimist action.
The Club of Meerbusch (Germany) received the Biennium Award for “Meerbusch goes future”, a forward-looking initiative combining climate action and gender equality. By supporting reforestation efforts in Nicaragua while raising awareness locally, the project demonstrates how local engagement can contribute to global challenges.

The Union of Italy was awarded the Advocacy Prize for “CurarSI – SI Cares: A Soroptimist Approach to Health”. This national initiative tackled gender inequalities in healthcare through advocacy, screenings and strong partnerships, reaching thousands of women and influencing public awareness on gender-sensitive medicine.

What are they now?

Beyond recognition, the BPA support the continuation of impactful initiatives. Both projects received a €1,000 monetary award to further develop their activities.
Six months on, the Meerbusch project continues to grow impressively. In 2025, it raised over €21,500 to support reforestation in Nicaragua, including the BPA award, and has enabled the planting of 10,000 trees since its launch. The initiative continues to expand through local partnerships and educational outreach, with further activities planned for 2026.
The CurarSI project in Italy has also taken a strategic step forward, transforming the BPA award into a lasting communication tool. The funding was used to create a bilingual (Italian/English) awareness video, professionally produced to extend the reach of the initiative beyond local activities.
The video focuses on key priorities such as cardiovascular prevention, early detection of female cancers, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles, encouraging women to take an active role in their own health.
Designed for dissemination across social media and for use by Clubs, it strengthens the continuity of CurarSI’s work on prevention and gender-sensitive medicine, while reaching a broader international audience.
Your project could be next
The Best Practice Awards are not only about recognition, but also about sharing ideas, strengthening our network, and amplifying the impact of Soroptimist action.
We warmly encourage all Clubs and Unions to submit their projects and take part in this exciting initiative by 15 May 2026.
Let your work be seen, your impact recognised, and your voice heard!
