As part of the United Nations Secretary-General’s UNiTE campaign to end violence against women, run by UN Women, the 25th of every month has been proclaimed Orange Day. For the third year in a row, Soroptimist International and its Geneva Clubs mobilised their forces to raise awareness on these issues. A human chain around the harbor of Lake Geneva took place: the population was invited to demonstrate its support for the fight against violence against women. The Soroptimists also gave Genevans the unique opportunity to see illuminated in orange the Jet d’Eau and the Paquis lighthouse, and the Palais des Nations.
